Pair of Oil Paintings Landscapes by Georges Philibert Charles Maroniez
This month, sales staff member Misty has chosen a pair of nature-themed paintings by Georges Philibert Charles Maroniez. “I have loved these paintings since they came into our showroom,” Misty says. “They instantly transport me to a mountain stream from the memories of my summer camp as a youth. The scenes fill my heart with joy and peace. You can feel the soft, cool summer breeze, hear the trickle of the stream and smell the fresh mountain air.”
French Pair of Bronze Urns
Michael has chosen for January a unique pair of bronze urns decorated with musical symbols. “I really enjoy music of all kinds, and the G Clef is like a universal symbol for all musical genre compositions,” says Michael. “These wonderful decorative urns would look great on a mantel or as side pieces atop a piano. Certainly not as elaborate as Liberace would have, but elegant nonetheless.”
Grace Schlesier, Road to Harmony
Gallery curator Judith has also chosen a work of art this month entitled Road to Harmony by Grace Schlesier. “This lovely oil painting takes me away from the routine of the day; it allows me to wander along an old trail and explore the hillside,” Judith says. “It feels like a coming summer day as the grasses have turned to gold, and the trees welcome me to the shade. The composition is pleasing and the execution is skillfully done so that it will always be treasured by the viewer.”
Victorian Hand Painted Brass Hanging Oil Lamp
Sales staff member Kathy has chosen an oil lamp for January. “This is an amazing Victorian hanging oil lamp in excellent working condition,” Kathy says. “It features a beautiful hand painted globe with a floral design and 24 prisms that measure over 4 inches in length that dangle from the lower edge. It also still has its original counterweight that was used to raise and lower it. It dates to 1850-1880 and was never electrified. This is a rare find and in very fine condition.”
Gilt Bronze Ebonized Putti Candelabra
Vida’s choice for January is an antique candelabra. “This beautiful French gilt bronze candelabra is from 1880,” Vida says. “The ebonized Putti holding the candle arms is my favorite thing about the piece.”
