About Gene Dieckhoner
Gene Dieckhoner was born in 1940 in Cleveland, OH. He received his BFA degree from Ohio University. After three years in the Air Force, he moved to Los Angeles, CA, where he decided to focus once again on the fine art field.
Gene's paintings and sculptures allow him to share with the world his appreciation of the diversity of this great land. He revels in the joy of life shown by the creatures with which we share our planet. He wants his art to inspire all to take a longer and closer look at nature and the animals around us. Gene is an admirer of all of the great illustrators and wildlife artists. He strives to achieve a wide range of emotions by utilizing the subtle differences of oil, watercolor and pencil.
Gene's success is shown by the numerous awards for a variety of media and subjects. Noteworthy accomplishments and commissions include over 100 drawings for the LA Times and Carte Blanche Magazine, 60 drawings for the Joshua Tree National Monument, a series of plates for the Bradford Exchange, along with a series of both puzzles and greeting cards. Gene also worked for Fox Animation Studios on a variety of projects including: "Adventures from the Book of Virtues", sculpted for "Anastasia", and did conceptual design for "Titan AE" and "Ice Age". Gene's work is included in many museums and private collections. He continues to paint and sculpt out of his home in Sedona, AZ.
