Swiss Vintage Gubelin Retro ruby & diamond 18K & platinum brooch, circa 1940. This Retro brooch is crafted in 18 karat gold and platinum by Gubelin. The signed Gubelin brooch features 32 mixed cut rubies individually prong set. The rubies have a carat total weight of 3.50 carats and are medium to medium dark red to slightly purplish red in color. There are also 13 full cut and 20 single cut diamonds at .86 carat total weight. These diamonds have VS1 clarity (one chipped I1) and G-H color. This vintage brooch is very finely made with excellent finish work. The vintage Gubelin brooch is secured with two 18 karat gold pins. This Retro ruby brooch weighs 23.4 grams and is appraised at $7,800.
