Estate 6.50 carat sapphire pendant necklace. This pendant is crafted in 18 karat white gold featuring a 6.50 carat oval sapphire accented with 16 round brilliant cut diamonds at .80 carat total weight. The diamonds have SI2 clarity and H-J color. The sapphire is an oval mixed cut with fine color of medium-dark blue with strong saturation, eye-clean clarity, good brilliance and symmetry, and very good polish. The sapphire has evidence of heat treatment, as with most sapphires on the market, and note some chipping on the sapphire. The pendant has a platinum bale, is in excellent condition, weighs 3.9 grams, and is appraised at $26,000. An 18 karat white gold chain was later added.
