Albert Karges immigrated in 1886 and invested $600 into opening a furniture company specializing in creating American furniture from local hardwoods in Evansville, Indiana. Albert’s son, Edwin, joined the company after WWI. He was an artist at heart. Edwin’s artistry led his father’s company towards making beautiful European-inspired furniture. After graduating college, Edwin developed a furniture finishing process that was remarkable and innovative. The Karges finish and style still sets it apart from other companies today.
