Joe Eggertâs sculpture in bronze portrays the spirit of the American West and celebrates the cowboy life. Joe grew up with a passion for the West and the American Indian and it was after retiring from the restaurant industry that Joe discovered his talent in sculpting. A self-taught artist, Joeâs work reflects his own style and an unwavering attention to detail. Joe has received many awards for his sculpture and was the Artistâs Choice winner at the Cattlemanâs Western Art Show 2011.
Often Joe is asked how he comes by his ideas for a new sculpture and that answer is easy, âI see it in my mind from an experience, or putting together a thought or emotion. I imagine the finished piece then get to work on it. I enjoy telling folks about the background and development of each sculpture and then they can relate with their own story and love of the Western lifestyle. I love sculpting in clay. My passion for Western culture fuels my imagination and it inspires the subjects of my work.â
A native of San Diego, Joe and his wife, Debbie, enjoy the horses, dogs and other four-legged âfamily membersâ at their home in Lakeside, California.
