This month’s Staff Picks: August includes beautiful fine art, a tall case clock, antique silver, and more. Read on to learn more about this month’s staff favorites.
The above painting by new gallery artist Elena Rezayeva is Judith’s staff pick for August. “I am very excited about the new paintings that I have received from Russia by Elena Rezayeva,” she says. “She is noted for her works of ballerinas in colorful costumes, completed in a loose impressionistic style. Her works have been featured in numerous openings that feature the ballet, as well as reproductions that are used for interior placement for ceilings of exclusive mansions.”
The painting below by Marilyn Simandle, a soothing porch scene overlooking a lake, is Michael’s staff pick for this month. He says: “I love to travel & this painting reminds me of a relaxing vacation getaway. I can imagine morning coffee on the veranda while planning the day’s adventure. This is such an inviting tableaux.”
Vida’s choice for August is a stunning silver tea kettle by famed Georgian silversmiths Alice and George Burrows. “My pick is this Alice Burrows kettle from 1817. If someone poured tea for me from this kettle I would feel like royalty.”
This Darville Paris tall case clock is an 18th century treasure. Misty says: “This clock is a showstopper with its cartouche numeral dial and its parquetry inlay. The closer you get to this clock, the more the fine detailing pops. I encourage you to magnify the pictures, or better yet, visit it in person! This exquisite clock dates from 1770 and is signed on the movement and dial.”
This Gothic hand-cut fretwork clock is also a Staff Pick for this month. Sales staff member Lori says: “I love this clock because it reminds me of Small World at Disneyland; it is truly magical to look at. It is adored by all of the visitors here.”
